  1. “Only construction vehicles can currently drive along William Street into the centre of the integrated resort development, where concrete pumping stations and loading bays are located for all four towers. Just a few days later, Star reached a deal with US casino giant Bally’s for at least $250 million in exchange for a controlling stake in the company. Alliance for Gambling Reform chief advocate Tim Costello said the public deserved to have access to the full plan given The Star’s history.
“There’s so much to see and do in Brisbane and our walking tours will
help bring more of our city’s history and culture to life,” Cr Schrinner says. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner says the new tour will reveal the history behind these heritage sites while embracing exciting new parts of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. “These new
guided tours, led by our talented team of
expert art and history guides, will take visitors on a journey
to the past as we share insights on the cultural significance of the site and engage with the contemporary
ideas and inspirations behind the new artworks featured in the precinct.”
The Queen’s Wharf redevelopment is a significant project in Brisbane, bringing new changes to the city’s skyline and creating a vibrant area in the heart of the CBD. With many developments unable to move to the construction phase,” Mr Riga said.
“This scarcity is driven by a slowdown in project launches and rising construction costs,
Also includes evening update. Daniel Finch, Star Brisbane CEO, reassured the public of the company’s commitment to adhering to AML and safe gambling policies. In 2022, the company was hit with $100 million in fines for major failings in its Brisbane and Gold Coast casinos.
“If a casino located in the CBD of a capital city cannot make ends
meet then it might be time for the casino to call it quits,” Professor Morrison said. “A buyer would have to be comfortable with a company in Star’s circumstances to
be a joint landlord and take the risk of default under the agreement.” Reaching a deal, Mr Hughes said, is of “existential” importance to Star. On Monday, the company notified the ASX that the deadline for termination has now been extended to July 31st. But just when things appeared to be improving for Star, their joint venture partners suddenly announced they were terminating the agreement to buy Queen’s Wharf, effective July 7.
The Commissariat Store, the oldest occupied colonial building in Queensland, stands as a reminder of Brisbane’s penal history and early colonial infrastructure. Queens Garden developed between 1905 and 1962 is an historically significant public space located at 144 George Street, between the Treasury Casino and the former Land Administration buildings. This land also holds deep significance for the Turrbal and Jagera peoples, who have lived in and around the Brisbane area for thousands of years. As the Queen’s Wharf precinct opens and begins to welcome visitors, it is a perfect time to reflect on the rich history of this area—a site that has experienced remarkable transformations over the centuries.
“The deal takes a huge debt pile off its books and signals a clear shift in focus.” Griffith University Business School’s Graeme Hughes said the deal would come as a relief to Star Entertainment if approved. The deal still needs to pass regulatory hurdles before it’s finalised. A Queensland government spokesperson said the deal between Star and its joint venture partners — Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE) and Far East Consortium — was not yet finalised.
The Neville Bonner Bridge is expected to cater to thousands of pedestrians every day. About 10,000 pedestrians are expected to use the new river crossing each day, which features shading as well as an observation area with seating. About 10,000 pedestrians are expected to use the bridge each day. Matt Bekier, CEO of the Star Entertainment Group outlined that the ground-breaking deal would further underpin Queen’s Wharf as Australia’s future international tourism and leisure hotspot. “The
construction workers on this massive project also deserve congratulations for their ability to keep the project going right through the
impacts of COVID,” the Treasurer said.
“Some people would be unaware that this site and the majority of the adjacent road is built
on piers above the harbour. Stay tuned as more openings
are announced and watch as Queen’s Wharf Brisbane comes to life, with even more dining, entertainment, and experiences
still to come! The vibrant interior, complete with hidden features like
a secret private dining room embodies the fusion of cultures and adds to the immersive experience.
